The Hamilton area consists of the lower part, Hamilton, and the upper part, Hamilton Heights.  This area is bordered on all sides by McKay Creek, Mosquito Creek and Wagg and Thain Creeks. The neighbourhood is quickly becoming one of the higher density areas of North Vancouver, offering a mix of single family homes, condos, and townhomes, in a very central location.

The Hamilton Heights area is characterized by flat lots, with mature trees and landscaping, which create an established, child-friendly feel to the neighbourhood.  The Hamilton Heights area is comprised of mostly single family detached homes. There are a number of “character homes” in the area.  Many of the ones along Cumberland Crescent offer great views to downtown Vancouver.

Parks and Recreation

Hamilton is surrounded by parks. Mosquito Creek Park offers a large grass field, children’s playground, a basketball court, and plenty of trails to explore.  Hamilton Park hosts two sports fields, and with schools nearby, the area is a perfect spot for families.  The Burrard Yacht Club is located along the waterfront below the Auto Mall.

Shopping and Services

A short walk to Marine Drive, the Hamilton region benefits from the many stores and restaurants in that area.  Capilano Mall is also a short walk away. The area has recently had the addition of a Price Smart Foods, Golf Town, and a Bed, Bath, and Beyond.  The North Shore Auto Mall is down on the waterfront.  Just across the Upper Levels Highway from Hamilton is the popular Edgemont Village.  To the west is Park Royal Shopping Center and to the east is the Lonsdale corridor with many shops and services.

Community and Entertainment

Movie theatres are nearby in Lower Lonsdale.  In Hamilton Heights, the Lucas Center offers programs for Continuing Education.

Education

Westview Elementary is the neighbourhood school. The closest high school is Carson Graham Secondary.

Getting Around

Public transit is readily accessible in the area.  Lower Lonsdale in very close and is the location of the Seabus for commuting by boat into downtown Vancouver (a 12 minute ride).
